Splash is a solution to the age old problem of how to create high quality graphics, consisting of data, charts, text and images. Traditionally, to create these types of graphics, especially if charts are involved, it was necessary to use multiple pieces of software from different vendors. Without exception, once your charts and objects are consolidated into a DTP program, or Graphic editing software, it becomes very difficult to edit your components and change their scale, without resorting to the original program that created them. This is particularly true where charts are involved. Then there's the problem of the output, suppose you wanted to create a graphic that just contains all of your consolidated objects, and nothing else, and you want to create it at different resolutions and sizes both for print and the Web. This simply cannot be done using DTP software, and graphic editing software can not successfully alter the size of all of the objects because they are not all vector based.

This is where SPLASH comes into a field of its own. You work with a canvas much the same as with DTP software. The canvas can be made as big or as small as the user requires. On your canvas you then create specific object frames. The three frame types are Graphics, Charts and Text. Each of these object frames can be positioned, resized or ordered on the canvas, each is an independent object, and you can have as many as you like of each type. Graphics can be imported with most of the popular formats supported. Text objects are only limited by the fonts available on the PC where the software is installed. Charts are created by either populating the internal Splash data tables or importing the data from external sources into the Splash tables. Each object frame has its own set of tools and controls to manipulate the object, totally independent of the other frames on the canvas. In particular, the Charting object frame tools offer a rich set of options allowing the user to change chart types, colour, real-time 3D perspective and orientation.

Using SPLASH makes it extremely quick and cost effective to produce a composite output in a fraction of the time it took previously. What's more, all of the objects created within Splash are vector based. This means if you want multiple versions of the composite at differing output sizes and resolutions for either Web or Print, the output you receive is razor sharp and legible, thanks to the vectoring and High Quality Anti-Aliasing.
